Introduction - Advanced Piano-Yoga® - Stage 3

This course is based on 'Stage Three: Advanced Piano-Yoga®' from GéNIA's highly-acclaimed Piano-Yoga® Book 'Transform Your Hands': described as 'a unique hand and finger workout that will do more for your technique than hours of practising pieces: the muscles of your hands could become much stronger and in turn your finger flexibility should increase.' Stage Three is created for advanced pianists and is based on the same principles as before but with fewer notes and jazzy rhythms. To benefit most from this stage I would advise you to get familiar with Stages One and Two. I hope that you will get carried away. Try not to forget the main rules: keep your hand in the correct position; always play with flat fingers; and play slowly. Remember: Rome wasn’t built in one day. Enjoy! 'Piano-Yoga® is more than a book of exercises. It is an holistic approach focusing on all aspects of performance and the performer.' Ian Grundy, pianist, piano teacher and composer. The method has featured majorly in the music press, especially in the British media, described as ‘The 21st century answer to playing the piano' by Yoga & Health Magazine, as well as vouched for by Piano Professional magazine: ‘It really does work. Many pianists have been helped with this unorthodox and unusual method.’ Vimeo Video Course is available https://vimeo.com/ondemand/transformyourpractice Further details are available https://www.piano-yoga.com/transformyourpractice You are also welcome to follow me on: Instagram https://www.instagram.com/pianoyogastudio/ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/pianoyogaeducation YouTube https://www.youtube.com/user/Geniapianist Spotify https://open.spotify.com/artist/4T8Ul39zbdsJ7Xv7soK5CW?si=Ngk03eyRT2uVEPFRMJPwwg As well as signing up to this @PianoYogaEducation YouTube Channel. Eagle Pose Routine for Shoulders for Musicians and Sound Engineers | Yoga with GéNIA

This is a fantastic exercise to release shoulder tension. Please attempt this exercise only after you have warmed up your body as it can be quite strong on the shoulders. If you have any shoulder injuries, I would recommend contacting your doctor to see if this exercise is right for you. I am very excited to present to you my new yoga series, designed especially for musicians and sound engineers. As a concert pianist, composer, producer, as well as a qualified BWY (British Wheel of Yoga) yoga teacher, I will share some simple exercises with you over the course of this seven-video series. I regularly incorporate these exercises and also encourage my students to do the same when working on music. Whether you are performer, producer or composer, your life is largely sedentary with a particularly heavy use of upper body, especially shoulders. No previous experience is necessary, and many of the exercises can be done without even leaving your chair or piano bench! Incorporating these little exercises, even if only for five minutes a day, will allow you to feel refreshed and, thus, be more productive. Please note that if you already have some health conditions, particularly problems with shoulders hands, wrists or high blood pressure (amongst others), please consult your doctor before embarking on any of these exercises. If you have any questions, please leave them underneath this video. For more exercises and advice, please follow my channel. Belt Support for Tired Back for Musicians and Sound Engineers | Yoga with GéNIA

You can try this exercise any time and decide how strong or soft you'd like to adjustment of the belt to be. Start with only a few minutes, then you gradually increase the hold, if it feels comfortable. I suggest only using it in playing when you play something quite still, or, maybe just wear for a few minutes without even playing. You will find that, over time, this exercise will change your posture. If you would like to purchase a belt, I would recommend the following: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07BML4GSX/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_TXE9AE9Z479KKSSJ3DV6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I am very excited to present to you my new yoga series, designed especially for musicians and sound engineers.
