The Birth of Piano-Yoga®
While refining her own performance technique, GéNIA recognised the physical and mental challenges pianists face, including limited hand span, tension, strain and stage anxiety. This led her to train as a yoga teacher with the British Wheel of Yoga while developing Piano-Yoga®, blending classical piano technique with breathwork, postural alignment and body awareness.
Her first book, Transform Your Hands: A Complete Ten-Week Course of Piano Exercises, has helped pianists worldwide develop strength, flexibility and a healthier technique. Her method is known as the only specialist approach that enables pianists to work safely on increasing hand span, with exercises medically reviewed and approved from a hand-therapy perspective. Her online courses, workshops and masterclasses continue to expand the reach of Piano-Yoga®, helping pianists of all levels achieve greater ease and expression.
