The founder of Piano-Yoga®

The founder of Piano-Yoga®, concert pianist and composer GéNIA was born in the Ukraine and was taught piano by her great-grandmother, the renowned pianist Regina Horowitz and went on to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Trinity College of Music. GéNIA made her London debut as a concert pianist in the Park Lane Group Young Artist Series, which was followed by concert tours in the UK, Europe and USA. London performance venues include the Wigmore Hall, Barbican, Southbank Centre, Olympia, Kings Place, St.John's Smith Square and St Martin in the Fields.

Enigma of the music world, GéNIA recently enjoyed success with her new compositions by releasing her latest solo piano album ‘Babylon’ with numerous sold out London shows whilst her music enjoyed the placements in the critically acclaimed BBC America TV Series ‘Killing Eve” (starring Sandra Oh) and well-known British ITV series ‘Cold Feet’.


GéNIA's compositions can be heard on Classic FM, BBC Radio 2, BBC London Radio 94.9, London News TV Channel, Talk Radio, BBC Wells Radio, as well as at the Caffe Nero Branches worldwide (as GéNIA is Caffeé Nero's featured classical artist).


As a performer, GéNIA features as a soloist on the soundtracks of award-winning films "Paradise Grove" and "Bookcruncher" and her recordings and live interviews are regularly broadcast on BBC TV and Radio including BBC London Radio and BBC Proms.


GéNIA often supports charitable causes; most recently she gave a gala concert for UNICEF. Her classical repertoire is diverse and virtuosically astonishing.

As a music educator, following her passion for yoga and alternative disciplines, GéNIA developed Piano-Yoga®, a multi-dimensional method of piano playing, and gives masterclasses and lectures based on this holistic approach. GéNIA's first Piano-Yoga® book "Transform your hands: A complete ten week course of piano exercises" was published in 2009 (eBook and paperback). 

in 2009 GéNIA founded the boutique Piano-Yoga® Studio in the heart of London, Soho. Amongst GéNIA's students are recipients of many music scholarships and awards that include The Westminster School Music Scholarship, Camden School for Girls Music Scholarship, prize winners at the North London Festival, the Windsor Festival, The Dulwich Festival, The Watford Festival, the Around the Globe Piano Music Festival, the West London Annual Pianoforte Festival, the Eton Honorary Music Exhibition award and The Westminster School Competitions to name a few. GéNIA's school has a successful track record of graded exams at Associated Board and Trinity Guildhall Boards with grades ranging from Grade 1 to the Performance Certificates and Teaching Diplomas.

GéNIA is regularly invited to become involved in numerous educational projects; she is currently on the Board of Directors of "Mysuka", a Californian Children's Choir, USA. GéNIA has taught at Trinity College of Music, Dartington and COMA Summer Schools, De Montfort University (Leicester), Lewis University (Peoria, USA), Californian Association of Piano Teachers (CAPMT) in Los-Angeles and EPTA (European Piano Teachers Association) International Conferences.

GéNIA numerous accolades include the Premier Prix GSMD, the Silver Medal from the Worshipful Company of Musicians, the Founders Prize for Excellence, the Dame Myra Hess Award and the Craxton Trust Award.

She is a qualified B.W.Y. (British Wheel of Yoga) teacher and trained with The Life Centre®, London.

GéNIA holds six instrumental diplomas: MMus (Dist), LGSM(Dist), PGDipMus(Dist), PGA(Dist), Honours Diploma of Kharkov State Institute of Arts (Ukraine) and Concert Recital Diploma from the Guildhall School of Music (Premier Prix GSMD).
