It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Piano-Yoga® world of piano
playing, performing and teaching, based on an holistic approach to music education.
At Piano-Yoga® we teach to the highest professional standards, working on body, mind and spirit. Having trained as a concert pianist from the age of four, I often noticed how the strictest methods could negatively affect the sensitive spirit of a musician, erasing their passion
for music. It was my dream to create a system that would allow students
to progress to the best of their ability, whilst taking into consideration the uniqueness of each individual.
After many years of practising yoga and
eventually training as a yoga teacher myself I was able to realise this dream: I created a system that works for everyone: children, teenagers, adults, amateur performers, total beginners and professional musicians.
Piano-Yoga® works on a physical level, where a deep sense of body awareness helps to improve piano technique. On a psychological level, Piano-Yoga® aids students with stage nerves, memory lapses, timing, rhythm and other similar issues. On a spiritual level, breathing techniques can transform your playing into a wholly meditative experience. Although this technique is new, it is based on the ancient principles of yoga and the cultural heritage of classical music.
My aim is to make music creation - whether you are playing for yourself or your friends, educating your child, studying professionally, composing or teaching - a source of pleasure and joy in your life that contributes to your emotional and physical health!
