'The first entirely new piano technique to emerge in over 50 years.' Yoga & Health Magazine

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Piano-Yoga® world of piano playing, performing and teaching, based on an holistic approach to music education.

At Piano-Yoga® we teach to the highest musical standards, working on body, mind and spirit.

Having trained as a concert pianist from the age of 4, and as a piano pedagogue for the past 30 years, I often noticed how the best yet strictest piano methods can negatively affect the sensitive spirit of  students, undermining their motivation to study.

It was my dream to create a system that would allow students to progress to the best of their ability, whilst taking into consideration the uniqueness of each individual, and so, igniting their enjoyment and curiosity.

Additionally, after many years of practising yoga, and eventually training as a yoga teacher myself, I was able to realise this dream: I created a system that works for everyone: children, teenagers, adults, amateur performers, total beginners and professional musicians.

Piano-Yoga® works on the physical level, where a deep sense of body awareness helps to improve piano technique. On a psychological level, Piano-Yoga® aids students with stage nerves, memory lapses, timing, rhythm and other similar issues. On a spiritual level, breathing techniques can transform your playing into a whole meditative experience. Although the Piano-Yoga® technique is new, it is based on the immersion in the ancient teaching of yoga, with the main principles of the Russian piano school.

My aim is to make performing creative - whether you are playing for yourself or your friends, educating your child, studying professionally, composing or teaching - a source of pleasure and joy in your life that contributes to your emotional and physical health!

I look forward to welcoming you into our ever-growing community. To fully benefit from our website, I invite you to register to become a member.

With love and light,

Home: About Us

Our typical content usually offers: blog, followed by a video post, a weekly Mindfulness Playlist, and a new topic for the Piano-Yoga® Club. On top of this, there is more educational content from our creative collaborators, which aligns with the Piano-Yoga® ethos, as well as my guest interviews with renowned artists and educators in my new series 'Quarantine or Paradise' and concert series (currently online), so we cannot possibly pack all of this into a single email

Follow GéNIA on our YouTube channel, where she shares her tips and insights into the Piano-Yoga® method and piano playing. Recent posts include information on how Ayurveda can help with stage fright, how to create sound colouring technique, what to expect from the Piano-Yoga® Club Online, when is best to practice and many other topics. Email us your questions and GéNIA will answer them live on her channel.
