Service Description

Choose Your Session Duration Assessment Lessons are available as 60-, 90- or 120-minute sessions. You can select your preferred duration when booking. For a more comprehensive assessment, including time to explore several areas of your playing and discuss your personalised development plan, we recommend the 90-minute session. A Piano‑Yoga® Assessment Lesson is a one-off, personalised session with the method’s founder, GéNIA. It offers an expert assessment of your technique, practice habits, physical well-being and individual goals. Before your session, please bring all the music you are currently studying and details of any technical, physical or performance-related concerns. You will also receive a short assessment questionnaire by email. Returning it beforehand will help GéNIA understand your needs and use the lesson time as effectively as possible. During the session, GéNIA will assess your playing and introduce the most relevant elements of the Piano‑Yoga® method. Depending on your goals, you will receive a bespoke one-, three- or six-month development plan, with clear guidance on what to practise and how to proceed. You can follow the plan independently or combine it with regular Piano‑Yoga® lessons. Professional pianists can learn how to use the body more efficiently, reduce playing-related tension and manage the physical and mental demands of performance. Amateur pianists can discover how to make the most of limited practice time and achieve technical progress through focused, efficient work. Conservatoire students and young professionals can address specific challenges—including trills, octaves, leaps and arpeggios—while developing concentration, confidence and strategies for managing performance anxiety. Piano teachers and pianists using Transform Your Hands can receive demonstrations, clarify the exercises and learn how to apply the Piano‑Yoga® method effectively. Parents and young pianists can receive an independent assessment of the child’s aptitude, progress and current needs, together with practical guidance on lessons, practice and the best way forward. At the end of the session, you will have a clear, personalised plan, understand exactly what to work on and how, and know the most suitable next steps for achieving your goals. Central London Venues Your lesson will take place at either Steinway Hall in Marylebone, near Bond Street, or Schott Music London in Soho, near Oxford Circus. The exact venue will be confirmed after booking.
