GéNIA has been teaching since her college days in her native Ukraine. Combining her experience as a concert pianist, composer and yoga teacher, she developed the groundbreaking Piano-Yoga® method, which helps pianists maximise their potential by harnessing the natural connection between the hands, body and mind. The result is a more efficient, healthy and intuitive approach to learning, enabling students to achieve technical progress more rapidly while enhancing both their performance and wellbeing.

Amongst GéNIA's students are recipients of numerous music scholarships and awards, including The Westminster School Music Scholarship, Camden School for Girls Music Scholarship, prize winners at the North London Festival, Windsor Festival, Dulwich Festival, Watford Festival, Around the Globe Piano Music Festival, West London Annual Pianoforte Festival, the Eton Honorary Music Exhibition Award and The Westminster School Competitions, to name just a few.

She has taught and given masterclasses at Trinity Laban Conservatoire, Dartington and CoMA Summer Schools, De Montfort University and Lewis University, amongst others. She has also educated piano teachers in the Piano-Yoga® method through presentations and workshops for EPTA UK, EPTA Europe and CAPMT in Los Angeles.

GéNIA has presented Piano-Yoga® lessons on BBC Radio London and Sky Arts, and has led Piano-Yoga® workshops, masterclasses and retreats throughout the UK, France, Monaco, Holland, Cyprus, Ukraine and the USA.

GéNIA is also a member of the Board of Directors of Myzuka, the California Children’s Choir, whose young performers have appeared at Carnegie Hall, Westminster Abbey, the Hollywood Bowl and many other prestigious venues worldwide.

Known for the effectiveness and practical nature of her teaching, GéNIA works with a wide range of students, from young beginners and dedicated amateurs to professional musicians, prize winners and high-profile actors preparing for piano-related film roles. Her students have achieved excellent results in graded exams with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and Trinity College London, from Grade 1 through to Performance Certificates and Teaching Diplomas.

Piano-Yoga® Studio is based in London at Steinway Hall and Schott Music, where GéNIA offers one-to-one tuition, consultations and drop-in lessons. She is also available for online tuition and consultations, working with pianists and teachers worldwide.

"Having tested out Piano-Yoga with students aged seven to 70, I can't help but be impressed by it.

My students have developed a greater finger control and the wrist exercises have really improved their phrasing”. Karen Marshall, Music Teacher Magazine

“With her positive, non-defeatist approach, GéNIA emphasises the joy and satisfaction of playing at any level and I would encourage any pianist — amateur or professional alike — to sign up for one of her courses.”

Zoe Rahman, International Piano
