Piano-Yoga® Club: Yoga & Back Release Exercises for Pianists

The idea of creating this event came after I was invited to design yoga exercises specifically tailored to the singers for the Musyka Music Camp in LA, where I now teach yoga online to young inspiring musicians. I realised that I absolutely MUST share my exercises with you!

About the Event

One of the benefits of staying at home in lockdown mode is that it allows us to practice piano more (at least in theory!) Hence, during or after your piano practice, which has hopefully increased, do you sometimes find yourself suffering from tightness in your shoulders? Do your forearms get tired after playing? Does your lower back feel a bit more sensitive after a practice session? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, you may find that my next event is exactly right for you!

Following my invitation to design yoga exercises for singers for the Musyka Camp in LA, I realised that I absolutely MUST share the exercises which I myself regularly do and give to many of my piano students, so they can implement them before, during and after their practice. Join me for this interactive session where you can ask me any questions relating to your body and to challenges which you are currently facing when practising!

Please do remember that as we work on improving and maintaining our body, this contributes to our entire well-being. Combined with the piano playing which feeds our soul, this is the best self-improvement and fullfilling strategy you can ever imagine!

Please remember that we want to keep our group very intimate so everyone can ask questions and share their views, so please be understanding and allow others to ask as many questions as you are asking yourself.

'Piano-Yoga® makes best use of your specific anatomy, strength and flexibility to help your playing’ Pianist Magazine

I invite you to read this in-depth article about Piano-Yoga® which was published by Pianist Magazine. Page 1 and Page 2

To benefit most from the course please be prepared to take your shoes off, and have a belt or a towel handy. For those of you experiencing tightness in the hips, I recommend having a cushion or a folded blanket or, if you have one, a yoga block.

Please log in into the event at least 5 minutes before the beginning in case there are any technical difficulties. The virtual dors will be open from 6:15pm and you are welcome to join me from that time! On the day of the event I will re-send you the access link, which will be the same as the link on the ticket which you purchased. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch via contact@piano-yoga.com! Looking forward to seeing you at the event!

‘I was one revitalised pianist and a teacher ready with a new range of tools to support and develop my students! Thank you GéNIA – this was a five-star course’.

Karen Marshall from Music Teacher Magazine following our 2011 Kings Place Retreat.

‘I would encourage any pianist, amateurs and professionals alike, to sign up to one of GéNIA’s courses!’ International Piano Magazine
