We are now offering one to one Piano-Yoga® sessions in London which allow students to get an in depth understanding of this holistic piano playing method. Described as the 'first entirely new piano technique to emerge in over 50 years' (Yoga & Health Magazine), the method looks beyond the traditional technique, working on the body as a whole while connecting it with the psychological and emotional state of the musician. This 60 minute session is taught by GéNIA, Russian virtuoso pianist, educator and qualified yoga practitioner, and combines a traditional piano lesson with a tailored Piano-Yoga® addition of 'pure' yoga and mind exercises. Designed with pianists in mind, these techniques help to release tension in the muscles, increase flexibility, optimise the capacity of the student as well as relax body and mind. As such, they also provide successful strategies for improving concentration, memory and combatting performance anxiety. And if you experience problems such as tension in your arms when you play, neck pain or bad posture, a "Piano-Yoga®" session is especially ideal for you.
